A decade in the making
A new era of go-kart handling is coming soon, the MINI Electric combines the classic styling and handling with the future of electric automotive technology.
As the first fully-electric car from MINI, the MINI Electric is the next step in the electrification of the MINI brand. Following on from the successful MINI Countryman Plug-in Hyrbid, which has been on sale since 2017, and the MINI E pilot project from ten years ago.
“MINI is an urban brand and the fully-electric MINI the logical next step into the future,”
Oliver Heilmer, Head of MINI Design.
COMBINING THE PAST AND THE FUTURE.
Going electric has allowed the design to feature a closed-off grille, an all new interpretation of a signature MINI design element. Improving the aerodynamics of the MINI Electric by keeping the grille closed further improves the economical nature of the first fully-electric MINI.
Sharing the same yellow E badge as the MINI Countryman Plug-in Hybrid, and adding a striking yellow accent bar, the MINI Electric will stand out from the crowd. Shouting to the world; this is an electric MINI.
To further the striking appearance, the wheel design from the MINI Electric Concept has been carried over to the production model. Taking the motif of the accent bar on the radiator grille and adding an asymmetrical twist, making sure the new model stands out from the crowd.
We could talk for days about how wonderful we think the MINI Electric is. But it’s not just us, dozens of industry insiders will tell you the same thing.
Here’s a selection of some of MINI Electric’s coverage so far.
